I've pulled these out of several computer tube monitors, and tube televisions. Got about 2-3 bags of them. Was curious as to what metal they are. Magnet's pick them up.

When I got my first couple I was informed it was Led. However judging by how they are not bendable, I am pretty sure it is not led. My next conclusion is that its Iron. If it is iron what kind is it (if there is different kinds)? Also curious as to a good method to crush it. I've taken a hammer to it with a towel wrapped over it to prevent shards from flying, however it just cut right through the towel. I tried making a piece of orgonite with just this metal, but it didn't turn out well. Did not make pendulum swing much, and did not increase growth/speed of plants.

Looks like cast iron.

Thanks. Any idea on a good method on crushing it for orgonite use? Or is it even good to use as metal in orgonite?

Magnets attract it yes. However I do have some that I have separated from the others that magnetically attract metal.

Crushing stuff like that is a very tall order. It wants to melt more than crush. Industrial machinery is usually required to pulverize stuff like that.

I was able to make a little bit of powder with a hammer. However the towel I was using is horribly disfigured. Good thing about messing with this metal is it's easy to clean up with a magnet Smile. Shards went all over the place but the magnet finds all. I would think maybe the rock crusher thing I've seen people post here before might work (the thing that people use to grind up quartz) It looks like a fully metal butter churner. I would think that might work, but I lack funds for that currently.

The rock crusher you mention is sweet. Just received mine a few weeks ago. That iron you have there could be a tough match for it.

Why are you trying to crush up iron? Are you having trouble finding metal shavings?

Well from what I understand, the smaller the metal in Orgonite the more potent the piece is. So far the only metal I can cheaply get is from scrapping broken/out dated electronics. And from my local Home Depot and Lowes.
I've been cutting copper wire I pull out of electronics as small as I can, takes about 30 minutes to cut enough for 1 moderate sized piece of orgonite.

I want to make the iron into a powder, or small chunks so I can easily put it into the orgonite. I've noticed a very nice effect from mixing many metals into the orgonite. Currently been using a combo of, that Iron + aluminum, steel, copper wire cuttings, brass key shavings, gold (scraped off ink cartridges), Zinc/Cobalt screws/nuts/bolts/etc, Platinum from hard disk drives (very little, its only about 3-10cents worth per hard drive and I use a fraction of that.

Using the pendulum technique I get the best results from the mix metals. I made one of purely one type of metal (1 steel 1 aluminum 1 copper 1 iron 1 all screws/bolts etc). Pure copper has the 2nd best results (in fact It's kind of tied with mixed metals, both mixed and copper only almost made the pendulum swing out of my hand). I use a Lemurian Seed Crystal Pendulum. Also I've used all of them on plant and Ice experiments. The Iron seemed to have minimal to no effect on the seeds germination/growth. Where as the copper made the same (plant) seeds shoot up within 2 days of putting the seeds into soil and adding water. Which without any orgonite around it generally takes about 1-2 weeks before they germinate and break the soil barrier. I was very amazed. The plant in question is Sage.

Hopefully I did not sway too much off topic, as I generally do that from time to time.

Edit: I was upset with the Iron only orgonite results on the plant experiment. The seeds never did germinate and the soil molded. Both experiments had the same amount of water, same soil, and same pot (well cleaned KFC plastic bowls). Yeah I improvise with pots, Most of my plants are in folger's coffee cans.

Will a dremmel be able to cut these down to filings/powder size? My cousin whom I'm staying with currently has 2 dremmels and offered to let me use them to break the iron down. Also I was curious as to if it would also work on my steel. I have around 50 lbs of steel (big chunks). I attempted to use a metal filer. I can get some by filing, but after a few hours of filing I only was able to get about a few hundred mgs. Lots of work to break down metal to orgonite friendly size q.q.

I've pulled these out of monitors before. It's Ferrite...pretty positive.

So its called ferrite eh? Razz Thanks

This is what I've got as far as ferrite.

and this is the magnetic (attracts other metal) ferrite.

Nice!!! It's brittle but man does it attract magnets. I am experimenting with Bismuth, ferrite cores and magnets. No real results but I bet it'll be quite interesting in Orgonite looking forward to your experiments.
