Have recently gone "no poo" after Dennis told me to look into it... meaning I no longer use shampoo to wash my hair, just baking soda in water and then condition it with apple cider vinegar...

It has truly done wonders for my hair and I recommend anyone to look into it - just google "no poo" and there will be more information that you will want to read Smile

The difference it has made in just a few short weeks is something I wish I had started doing a long time ago... it really is that good...

Lena

Great news Lena.Thank you so much for posting your results. I have been looking at posts about the no-poo method-i have very long wavy hair down past my butt, i really do not look forward to washing my hair....ever....tangles really badly.
I have been very tempted to try it the no-poo but somehow chickened out LOL.... going to DO it now...based on your post. Thanks for sharing! Smile

Baking soda you say? I must try that.
Earlier this year I had made my own body butter which my spouse had taken to using in his hair as conditioner with great results.
We hardly shampoo our hair (super curly hair for both of us and it normally strips the oils) so a bottle for the organic sulphite and paraben free shampoo can last both of us the year.

Seeing how great Lena's hair looks and the before and after difference I have gone "no poo' as well. The fewer the number of commercial products, the better.

Me too. I use plain old 20 Mule Team Borax followed by a few drops of grapeseed oil when I wash my hair (I apply the oil after my hair is dry). It's baby fine and finger- in- an- electric- outlet frizzy when shampooed with normal products. With the "no poo" method it's wavy and smooth. I wash it every couple of weeks or as needed.

Looking forward to trying the baking soda/cider vinegar combo too.

I've been no poo for months, and have no plans to go back. Why strip out all the natural oils and replace them with products that are more expensive and far less effective? With no poo I love my hair Very Happy Just didn't know there was a name for it!

Right, Ruth, and besides, Dennis posted awhile back on how most shampoos have an industrial solvent.

I did use just plain 'ole soap, but I'm sure it's the same deal.

Thanks Lena!

I use this method pretty often! I have dreadlocks, so I need to be careful about using products that leave a residue behind. And apple cider vinegar removes residue, so it's perfect. I add a few drops of tea tree oil and sometimes eucalyptus too.

I use this as a dreadlock soak too, after I've been camping for example, to really deep-clean my hair. A bucket of water as hot as I can stand, apple cider vinegar and baking soda.

I use about a tablespoon per eight ounces or so (2 tablespoons for a big cup) and that has worked well so far. I have just below shoulder length hair...

LOL Julian. Laughing Next you'll be quoting the shampoo model: "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." Smile
