Hello,

I want o make pyramid with layers.

Do I need to form one layer with metal and resin AND WITHOUT ANY STONES ?

My plan was to make pyramid with several layers of METAL + RESIN + CRYSTALS

and other layers between those will be from CRYSTALS + RESIN + some ingredients like charcoal or clay or graphite.

I don't intend to use everything just one additional ingredient like CHARCOAL for the first pyramid, for that layers between and to separate layers with metal shavings.

What is your opinion about this method ?

Thank you Smile

The main idea is that I want to have several "real" orgonite layers ( metal+resin+crystal )

and between these layers will be resin enriched with charcoal

I have some other ideas I want to try Very Happy

Any suggestion about this one ?

Have you made any orgonite yet? Resin has a learning curve. Layered pours, especially ones as elaborate as the one you describe, are advanced pours. Each of those layers must be cured to just the right hardness before the next is added. Each layer needs a slightly different resin/catalyst ratio. If you don't get it right you've wasted a lot of ingredients.

Hi Ruth,

You said something interesting here, about the "Each layer needs a slightly different resin/catalyst ratio" can you please elaborate on that point?

Thanks soo much Smile

Your first layer will need more catalyst, the last ones less. Once a large piece heats up, you may also need temperature control to keep the piece from cracking.

What Ruth said.

And you really have to stay ahead of the heat buildup. After the last layer has set up, the mold might not feel very warm. But you come back 10 minutes later and you can't even touch it it's so hot. By then it's too late. Major cracks. I like the fan method of cooling.
