Hi I am an experienced producer in the mt shasta area. I am trying to find cheap clear resin online or nearby. I am also looking for cheap bulk crystal or crystal powder or trades. I am looking for cheap titanium and iron, shavings or powder. I am looking for cheap pyramid molds, preferrably silicon and a large mold, hopefully not the steel ateco version since it gets stuck everytime w/ me.

It is rather urgent.

Okay I may or may not have the cheapest suppliers or sources for Orgonite supplies but i'll share what i've learned so far.

Resin will be your most expensive ingredient. Many people here use Uscomposites.com. Although this time I used http://compositeenvisions.com/ and was able to use a coupon and got 5 gallons (single gallon containers) for 200$. Perhaps someone can suggest a cheaper method to obtaining a clear resin in larger volumes.

And for bulk crystals that will do the job Sensei and Lena have 1 lb of natural unbleached xtals for 10 bucks plus shipping.

According to Ruth and others, black/red/bblue iron oxides can be purchased at paint stores for pretty cheap. I obtained mine online through amazon and got 5 lbs. There may or may not be a difference between natural and synthetic. I have the natural kind though.

I haven't used titanium powder before but I found a listing on eBay for 2lbs for 40$.

I haven't been able to find a decent large silicon pyramid mold. I have looked in the past. I have been using the steel ones. Although if I may suggest the next time one gets stuck, throw it in the freezer with the pyramid point facing up. I do this trick often. It always works. Silicon molds aren't exactly that cheap. Although you could make your own. But you said it is urgent so perhaps that isn't an option.

Those are my sources for Orgonite supplies. I try to be as frugal as possible but there may be others here that know of cheaper sources.

Try the freezer trick for your pyramid mold. You may save on your silicon molds Wink

Hope I was of help.

Much love.

In that case, you could ask around for metal shavings (places that make keys, metal shops etc) for free shavings.

Crystals you can get pretty cheap online like on eBay.

Resin will be at least 35-45 bucks for a gallon at Home Depot. One can make orgonite on the cheap. You just gotta be resourceful.

Best price for quartz crystals and alum. shavings ^ OrgoneCrystals.com. The metal pyramid molds work like a dream if you wax them first , falls right out!

Don't forget, if you order from OC, Lena packs things in coarse metal shavings so you get a little extra metal for your work. Smile

I haven't found a cheap clear resin on the west coast. As far as I know, there isn't one. Shipping from US Composits in FL to the west coast runs around a dollar a pound plus the hazardous materials shipping fee. Still way cheaper than hobby shop clear resin, which last time I bought it was around twice that.

The brown resin at Home Depot runs around 36.00. and I've found the quality is better at Home Depot than Lowes. Lowes would not even discount old, partially hardened resin.

You may want to reconsider the metal Ateco molds. Silicone spray lubricant works great and the freezer trick for difficult releases works wonders.

If you do not completely fill the pyramid mold, it releases much easier. Leave 1/2 to 1 inch unfilled at the top. Read this sentence again.

Option : Rather than start from scratch on a tight budget, there may be someone on the board, set up already, who can pour pieces for you at a favorable price. Ideal if you only need a couple of units.

Wow you guys really get ripped off for resin over there Shocked I pay $220 (about US$156) for 20kg of resin, plus free 500ml catalyst and free shipping.

The way I found cheap resin is by searching for a local manufacturer, there seems to be an unusually large number of them too, especially if you live in a coastal city apparently. I don't know if US is anything like here, but if it is there should be resin factories everywhere - and the deal on shipping here is that if it comes from within the same state, you don't pay the dangerous goods surcharge.

I'll never buy polyester clear resin from US Composites again. It's every expensive and shipping isn't cheap. The resin and catalyst is only good for 3 or 6 months anyway and I purchased a liter (OUCH!) and I made a piece that required only 10 ounces resin back in 2012.

Yesterday, I purchased Casting Craft brand from Michael's: 16 oz for $22, 2oz catalyst for $13 and I got a $11 discount from the wonderful teen sales clerk.
