Hi, Thank you Sensei for granting me a membership, admist all of your spam email.

I have been heavily reading the last few weeks, and I am eager to start, I've found a source of resign, metal, crystals, and then come across a post that said the resign is smelly, and you should have some breathing protection, I can't remember the exact words, or where the post was.

What type of breathing protection is suitable?

Thanks! Very Happy

I wasn't sure if I should start another topic for another question. I just read this:

http://www.warriormatrix.com/viewtopic.php?t=14523

I was horrified that anyone would do that.

Kieron said that she/he asked the flower first before putting it in to orgonite, I thought that was very cool, I always ask my tomato plants where they want to be trimmed, before trimming.

My question is, does anyone ask the crystals what crystals want to go with other crystals? Or do the crystals even want to go into orgonite?

I know its not a technical question, but more of a curiosity.

Welcome. You will probably notice the guy who was putting dead bugs and animals into his "orgonite" didn't linger much longer after he got outed as a troll.

As for resin being smelly, it depends on what kind you use. There's polyester, which is more smelly, and epoxy which is less smelly, but you still have to take precautions with any chemicals you are working with. They behave a bit differently and require different procedures, as you probably already noticed.

BTW I have moved away from using flowers in orgonite. I dunno why.. just doesn't feel like I want to pursue that angle any further.

Orgonite is like a limo, for quartz crystals.

Wear your VOC mask.

I also like "orgonite is like quartz crystals on steroids."

That is very cool!

I am going to be using polyester resin.

I've been looking at masks, but its very confusing.

The different masks each have lists of things I've never even heart of, and when I did ask for some help, the fellow there didn't know anything.

This is the mask I use. I replace the filters often. I pour outside in my backyard, or for small pours sometimes in my garage with a fan blowing and the garage door open. I also use protective eye glasses, cover my hair with a scarf, wear long sleeve shirt and pants, boots. After I pour, all my clothes get put in the washing machine, and I shower with lots of soap and hot water. Shoes stay outside.

I jinx myself, the source of metal became non-existent, then rushed to find another source, which I did and picked it up, but instead of free, it cost, but it was low cost for what I got. The crystals, might have to wait until Sept, no more in case I jinx myself again. But, as a inspiration - I remembered that there was an old closed down and filled in mine, not so far away, so I went there and found these quartz rocks, they have all had the dirt washed off:

These are smoky quartz, with a couple almost black,

Are these good for TB's?

Yea, I def need to buy the $20 respirator that goes w/ my $200 industrial 3m face mask that I bought for making liquid soap bc I wasn't sure if it would explode after I raised the glycerin above the 315 degree flash point to melt in the lye.

I got pretty good at holding my breath, then when I need to take a breath, breath in thru a cloth filter like your shirt or an actual, like, cloth.

I do yoga and meditation so conscious breath regulation is an everyday matter of course for me, but if not for you then be aware I do know people who have damaged their lungs from lye fumes & I have no doubt the off-gassing of the resin fumes after the catalyst is added and exothermic reaction begins is no less toxic.
