Hey guys
Was wondering - so I have found some shavings from a local machine shop, and have been also cutting down metal sponges for dishwashing.
But all that seemed quite a time-consuming process, also - the shavings are quite large.

Also, I have some copper tubing, and other parts that I would like to mill into shavings

Is there a way of automatic milling of metal pieces? Like the sponges, for instance, or copper tubes into small 1-2 mm large pieces?

Some device, that would do the trick? How do you mill down that?
Thank you.

Yea it's called a 'ball mill', they cost about $3k, & you can only rent one if u r a corporation bc you can do stuff with a ball mill, using not only metals/stones/crystals, but chemicals as well.

There is something you CAN do with a ball mill that THEY would prefer the surfs not have the ability to do, but I'm not exactly sure what it is yet.

Anyway, I am trying to get my hands on one of these things too.

I was wondering, if I bought one of these things, would anybody be interested in sending me metals to pulverize down to nano size and of course paying me for the service to eventually partially recoup the cost of the machine?

Sensei, you could send me an ounce of gold or silver for example and I could return you precisely one (1) ounce of precious metal dust back in the mail, bc when we buy a $65 25-sheet book of gold leaf from LA Gold we actually have no idea how much gold we are buying on a per gram basis.

IF ANYONE ON THIS SITE OWNS A BALL MILL I WILL PAY YOU TO RENT IT FOR 2 WEEKS OR A MONTH OR I WILL SEND YOU THE METALS IN THE MAIL TO DO DO FOR ME AND PAY YOU FOR THE SERVICE. But I want to see a pic of you, the ball mill, & today's newspaper before I send u anything n the first time it won't be gold or silver, I'll tell u that...

This is a ball mill:

First recommendation - Look for smaller shavings.

Another alternative - Use a rock tumbler. You can tumble large shavings with some small stones, and that will produce some fine powder and some smaller shavings, depending on how long you tumble them.

Using large aluminum shavings and agates around 1" in size and running them for a day will greatly reduce the volume, too, so start with more than you think you will need.

Some have used a dedicated blender with mixed success. You can use the search function to find out more about that.

Deceptively simple advice. High quality shavings are a big plus. You can usually cover a lot of ground over the phone. Most people are happy to share their key cuttings if you leave a container.

You can cut down the options with a quick phone chat and get some idea of who and what in an hour or 2. Drop them a couple of pieces of orgonite when you are in their neighborhood and you could easily get a great connection (or 3 ) for life.

A rock tumbler, huh. Well, ok. That's good advice. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Those are $75. I guess I figured if that worked I would've read about somebody trying it already. Owning a ball mill would be cool tho. Can we atomize gold and silver shavings with a rock tumbler, do you recommend a particular model, & what about for grinding the actual shavings themselves, from ingot bars or whatever- anybody recommend a machine for that?

It would also be 'cool' to have the ability to melt down aluminum, nickel, & copper so I could cast my own alloy. Hydrogen torches are only $200 and u can buy a graphite crucible n some tongs on ebay for another bill. An acquaintance of mine in Oregon that blows glass has all that stuff.
