Please Help me Boost the DMV and my Insurance Company

Hi everyone. Long story short, I'm having some trouble with the DMV because I accidentally let my insurance lapse last month. Now they want me to turn my license plates in for 21 days, the amount of time i was without insurance (and didn't even know it!).

GEICO told me I could just go to the DMV and pay a fine of $8 per day and be done with it, but the DMV said you can only pay such a fine once every three years, and unfortunately this same type of thing happened to me a couple of years ago, and I already paid a fine once. Therefore, I was told that my only option is to turn my licence plates in on Monday for 21 days, which is really not an option for me.

The clerk at the DMV said my only option is to call GEICO, and see if I can get someone to send me a new insurance card with a reinstatement date the same as the day my insurance lapsed, therefore negating any lapse and any fine that would need to be paid. He also said there is no way I can pay the fine to the DMV anymore. I have a feeling this particular clerk who I was dealing with needs an extra boost. He had grey hair and a mustache, if that helps.

Could you all please boost the wonderful people at the New York State DMV, particularly Onondaga County, and the good people at GEICO? I'll be making some phone calls tomorrow morning to see if I can get this all cleared up without having to lose my car for 21 days. This is very important to me and I really appreciate all your help. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Well, unfortunately, I didn't get good news today, and it seems I have to turn my licence plates in to the DMV on Monday, for 21 days. I'm pretty sure it's an attack, and it's just a bit of a hassle for me really, so I won't complain too much. I'll get some exercise walking to work and hopefully lose a few pounds, which I could use anyways.

Please, please, PLEASE continue to boost these @$$holes at the New York State DMV and Geico. I'm fairly definite that I'm being targeted for these types of scams and it's really pissing me off, to say the least.

I guess I could use a boost too, if you think of it.

Thank you immensely to those of you who have helped and continue to help me with this. I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys soon enough for us to be more effective. I'll try harder from now on.
