"Embrace" - The wooden original was carved by a master who knew how to keep the lines energetic. Considering that the carver had to work in the negative the achievement is all the more special.

"Fibonnaci"
Not sure exactly which flower this is intended to be, but the original carving wonderfully shows the Fibonnaci progression.

Looks like a pinguicula gypsicola (carnivorous) in hibernating form Very Happy

I'll send you a pic of my carnivorous collection when the sunlight gets back on.

PS: Great art work! You could open a shop here in old europe only selling your stuffed paintings Cool

I LOVe those plaques! These are amazing. The power of pattern. I've been wanting to ask you about scale. How big are these? In my mind's eye I'm picturing around 9". They look like museum pieces- I'd think any gallery would be happy to carry them:)

Carolus, does Ping have a common name? Is he (It?) a plant or animal? A carniverous collection sounds interesting.

Hello Ruth

Its a carnivorous plant, commonly called "butterworts". Here is a pic of my collection, I'm experimenting with mini
black tourmalines TB's. They are very grounding and have an anti-parasite, pest effect that are very beneficial for the plant. As you see, the side leaves are drying up because the inner part is growing for the spring/summer edition. Very Happy

=> Emlong, How much hardener do you use to get them so smooth?

These "flowers" are usually very stylized, so calling them one species or another is somewhat tenuous. They are really intended to be the "idea" of flowers I think.
The chrysanthemum is 6.25 inches by 5.25 inches. The daisy looking one is 4.25 inches square. As size approaches say 12 inches square there can be problems casting them as orgonite. The shrinkage ratio gets to be a problem, but I think I am beginning to master the larger sizes too. There are some tricks that can be played. Most of the resin "cold cast" plaques you see out there are backed up with a low shrink inert filler, so shrinkage is not a factor; but sticking to the orgonite recipe means the backer is just more polyester which shrinks quite a bit as size goes up to the point of stressing the surface copper loaded gel coat.
I am going to have web site selling these eventually. My father is an art dealers for whom I worked as young man, so I am aware of the selling scene.

I like the patterns a lot, as well. Especially the wall plaque in the first picture. If I was next to it I'd be running my fingers all over those grooves. As it is I sat here staring at it for a moment and found myself moving my fingers as if I were touching them. I was like "wth am I doing?"

Emlong, do you sell these plaques?
