I wonder if it's possible to save drafts of posts before posting them. I seldom have much time on the computer. Being able to compose a post over the course of several days before posting it would help considerably with the quailty of my posts.

If you use a simple text editor such as notepad and compose your message there, you can then copy and paste into the post when you are ready. If you use a word processor you also get the benefit of spell check.

As far as implementing that feature into the site. It is possible, but would take some time and if we used cookies to store the drafts then there are security issues. So we would have to store a server-side draft that would inflate the database and possibly cause some slow-downs. But we will go over the technical details for inclusion into the next update to the site.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, Edge. I haven't been able to find a note pad on this library computer, I will explore it further though. Will it work doing it from my E-mail @hotmail.com?

this is a test. it is only a test. if it had been a real post, it wouldn't be a test. And it worked. I copied and pasted from my e-mail draft. Sorry to have bothered you with a stupid question.

Working on a draft thing, you can now "save as draft" (not working in solaris theme yet).

To view your drafts, there is a list of links in the top right

Let me know how this works.

Edge,

How long can you work on a post before getting logged off automatically. Last Saturday I was working on a post for 1hr. and15min. When I clicked on save as draft I lost it all and the log in screen came up.
