For me these books have been life changing, and I've hardly scratched the surface of what they have to offer. I've been able to start rewriting my (very unpleasant) childhood, let go of the trauma, and begin enjoying life .

I've been doing recovery work off and on since I was 21 years old. When emotional pain is such a large part of your identity letting go of it can feel a bit like dieing. Over the years I've tried many different therapies, energy work of various kinds, and headmeds. I know how to survive. Now I'm learning to live.

These books have allowed me to rewrite (or begin rewriting) my childhood. They've helped me find an identity that is not defined by pain. It felt very strange at first. Like being reborn.

The world is different. I am different. All my beliefs and expectations have been tuned upside down. I have more choices that I've ever had before. I'm learning to get out of my own way, not to be limited by my self imposed limitations.
Hopefully some of you who are more eloquent than I can do a better job of putting the changes into words Laughing

i am enjoying these books as well and love practicing renaming myself many times a day...it takes a little practice and I read and re read these books- i too have survived and have been good at surviving a lot of muck-laughing yoga made me very aware of just how much i was missing being a survivor- i did not know i was unable to laugh at will until i had to fake it to make it a few hours and let go of being in a constant survivor mode-
these books took that realization further and taught me that laughing, singing, dancing, and renaming are definately magical positive tools. l now sometimes do a little duck and goose soft shoe and tap down by the river while the vodka bums applaud and admire my shoes-a lot of "magical" happenstance occurs-

do read them, ya'll!!

ruth you the best!! tux

thiught I'd post this here. Just received my 3rd Art Of Soaring book because after my right hand puts something down my left hand gives it away-or if i have something one of my hands gifts it and so go my books hahahahaha

I was reading in the chapter "results of Magical acts" it deals with many things on its two pages hahaha-"A magician does not plan the outcome, does notexpect any particular result, and is prepared for anything--but hopes for the best" also "when I am soaring, all my intentions are realized. if an object rises up to hinder me, I just take creative action (eg express thankfulness). the world responds to my creativity, revealing the best outcome for all participants in this universal theater called life. I return to my state of soaring, and the situation resolves itself. often in a wholly unexpected way."

this is frompages 38-39 in THE ART OF SOARING.

as i am moving further along in my Karmic cleanse (i guess that is what it is) again with my grandgirl and the uglies around her i wish now to give deep thanks to all involved in this move to assassinate my heart yet once again! thank you thank you thank you!

I am almost finished reading, "the art of soaring", the first time through. What a marvelous book!

In gratitude, I am sending a purple flying dolphin with large pink wings and alluring golden eyes. As he streaks across the heavens he is balancing a present on his nose for all who read this post. It is a giant basket, made with duct tape and sea weed, woven by hermit crabs and seahorses, containing joy and good tidings.

That's a very cool little book. I reread it quite a bit. There is some mental jiujitsu that takes awhile to absorb.

I used to be the type to open a book as soon as a teacher stopped talking for 30 seconds. Thank god, reading on my own was probably my greatest savior to actual education rather than the indoctrinated kind. Now its a major effort for me to read anything that isnt online =/

I do have the Art of Soaring and got through the first chapter. A lot of Bashar Synchronicity for me.

I am kind of with you there. The net is like having a vast library you can thumb through with just a twitch of the finger.

Here is a paper book I just finished though. It is a lovely little book:

"Encounters With Star People - Untold Stories of American Indians"

Thank you for the Art of Soaring recommendation! What an inspiring work.

I will endeavor to soar while I pour, expecting magic.
