More than any other stone I have ever worked with ocean jasper's energy reminds me of orgonite energy - upbeat, cheerful, perky, positive; but I have not used it in orgonite yet. A couple of days ago I bumped into an old stash of OJ beads and made myself a necklace. It had been awhile since I had worked with this stuff. Actually, the last necklaces I made with it predate my discovery of orgonite last year, so I had kind of forgotten the energy; but working with it again I was struck by how similar the energy is. The necklaces I had made in the past were sold to other people, so I had not spent that much time with the stone.
OJ does not have the distance or "throw" of orgonite, but worn around the neck it really does remind me of orgonite. The difference though between a stone and orgonite is that a stone will eventually wear itself out and need to be left alone after awhile. The aura loads up too much with the energy whereas orgonite always feels fresh and holistic. Still, OJ might be a very effective enhancer of orgonite energy.

BUMP!

Yesterday I went to a gem and rock show, and my god I am just smitten all over again with this type of jasper. If I could have, I would have bought tons of it to take home. Jasper in general is something I am really, really drawn toward, but ocean jasper most of all.

A closeup of my favorite piece, an egg-shaped polished stone. I snapped this one up the instant I saw it. This one has a large druzy in it (seen at the top) and several smaller ones.

Someday I will tell more about my affinity for egg-shaped or ovoid pieces. Smile

One of ocean jasper's reputed metaphysical qualities is to cultivate self-love in the wearer, as well as love toward others. It's something I am working on, as most people are.

My one regret is that I did not buy a string of little pieces for use in orgonite. Sad Kicking myself... I had visions, once home, of adding a little of it to my mini orgonite hearts, which people seem to love instinctively.

http://blog.etemetaphysical.com/ocean-jasper/

"What is Ocean Jasper?

Ocean Jasper is a trade name for a multicolored Madagascan stone with spherical patterning set against a contrasting background color. Although called a jasper, the stone is actually a mixture of different forms of quartz: clear and colored varieties of chalcedony, banded agate, and pockets of tiny quartz crystals called druzy. When examined under a polarized light microscope, Ocean Jasper becomes chalcedony spheres floating in a sea of chalcedony."

Lots of examples of this stone on the link above, plus much more information and knowledgeable opinions from the writers of the blog. The more I read about it, the more it feels like a significant stone for me right now. Cool
